About Lash removal at Azizam

A proper lash removal is the only route we recommend if you are ready to take a break from extensions. Pulling them off yourself almost always takes your natural lashes with them, and we see the damage often enough to make the case clearly. A professional removal protects the natural lash line so that when you are ready to come back to extensions, your own lashes are in good shape to receive them.

We use a gel-based solvent designed specifically for lash adhesive. It is applied carefully along the lash line with the eye closed, sits for a few minutes while the bond breaks down, and is then gently cleared away. The extensions release without any pulling. The natural lashes remain undisturbed.

The appointment takes around 30 minutes, and it finishes with a cleansing step and a light conditioning treatment on the natural lashes. They often feel softer and more settled than you might expect. Many clients are surprised by how much of their own lash length has been hidden by extensions. Seeing it again is often a pleasant moment.

A removal suits several situations. You might be going travelling and want a lighter routine for a few months. You might have an event coming up where you intend to wear different eye makeup and want a clean base. You might simply be ready for a pause. Whatever the reason, the approach is the same. Careful, unhurried, and designed around the health of your own lashes.

We can also remove a set that was not applied at Azizam. If extensions were bonded with too much adhesive, or if the glue has hardened over time, the removal may take longer than 30 minutes, and we will tell you that up front. We will not rush a removal to fit a shorter appointment slot because rushing is exactly when natural lashes get damaged.

After the appointment, your natural lashes are yours again. You can wear mascara, use makeup removers of any kind, and go back to your normal eye routine. There is no aftercare beyond being gentle on the lash line for the first 24 hours. If your natural lashes feel slightly softer than you remembered, that is normal after months of wearing extensions. A good lash serum used nightly for a few weeks will bring them back to strength.

If you plan to return to extensions after a break, we suggest leaving at least one natural shed cycle, around four to six weeks, before booking a new set. This gives your own lashes time to fully recover and ensures your next set starts on the healthiest possible foundation.

If you are unsure whether to remove your set or simply book a refill, send us a photograph over WhatsApp and we will give you an honest recommendation. Sometimes a refill is the better move. Sometimes a removal and a short break is. Either way, we will steer you to the decision that protects your lashes.

Lash removal FAQs

How long do lash extensions last?

With a proper refill every two to three weeks, extensions can be worn continuously. Between appointments, you can expect a natural shed rate of a few lashes per day.

Will extensions damage my natural lashes?

Not when applied correctly. The weight and length are matched to each natural lash so nothing is strained. Poor application is what causes damage, and that is exactly what careful work avoids.

Can I wear makeup with lash extensions?

Yes. Avoid oil-based products and heavy mascara directly on the extensions. A light touch of liner close to the lash line is fine.

How long is my first lash appointment?

A full set of classic lashes takes around 90 minutes. Volume or Russian volume sets take two hours or more, depending on the style.

What is the difference between classic, hybrid, volume and Russian volume lashes?

Classic is one extension per natural lash, for a soft, natural finish. Hybrid blends classic and volume for a touch more density. Volume uses handmade fans for a fuller, defined lash line. Russian volume is the most precise and editorial, built with finer, denser fans. Your technician will recommend the style that suits your natural lashes and the look you want.

Can I wear contact lenses with lash extensions?

Yes. Extensions do not interfere with contact lenses. We suggest removing your lenses before the appointment for comfort, and inserting them afterwards once the adhesive has fully cured.

Will lash extensions suit my eye shape?

A good lash artist always designs the set around your eye shape rather than a trend. Almond, round, hooded and monolid eyes each benefit from different length and curl patterns. We will map the set before we begin, and we will say so honestly if a particular style would not flatter you.

What should I do if an extension feels uncomfortable?

Message us. Do not pull at it. If a single extension has bonded to two natural lashes or is sitting at an unusual angle, we can correct it in a few minutes. Never attempt to remove an extension yourself. It almost always takes the natural lash with it.
